On Friday the 22nd of April, we held our annual Ice Disco night with the team at Earth & Sky. We had arts & crafts available for those who wanted to paint their very own planets, food, fun, games, and of course the ice disco itself. Judging by the photos, everyone had a great time celebrating the stars and of course the earth and sky! You can check out more photos on Instagram here: Tekapo Springs Instagram
Last month we were visited by a South Korean travel reality show. They shot over two days here at Tekapo Springs, having their main character join in on the fun. She relaxed in the hot tubs, practiced her best sliding stance on the TRIPPO and she even helped out as part of the staff for the day!
One of our staff members Kevin got in on the fun and participated in the show. I was even interviewed about living and working in New Zealand as a foreigner. It was hilarious to watch them film as both Kevin and I were quite shy in front of the camera! All in all, we had a great time with the crew and were so excited to be a part of it. They loved Tekapo Springs and want to come back for a proper holiday next year. I'd say we did our job then!
Tekapo Springs is a proud official business partner of the Alps2Ocean Cycle Trail. Last Wednesday night we had a great turnout for the grand opening of the Lake Tekapo Alternative Route and I even did a little talk about Instagram for busineses!!
The next day about 15 of us took to the trail and biked 54 kms to Twizel. We had a great day meeting new members, having lunch and riding along Lake Pukaki. If you haven't gone out on the trail yet, you're missing out! What a great way to see the beauty of the Mackenzie Region.
Our Summer Tube Park will be closing as of February 1st but don't worry, they will be re-opening for Easter and school holidays at the end of March. Stay tuned for news on the exact opening dates!
